Open Settings on your iPhone. Go to General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard and choose Tidymoji.

The Tidymoji app shows the same steps and has a button that opens Settings for you.

In any app, touch and hold below the keyboard and choose Tidymoji.

Tip: Remove Apple’s Emoji keyboard from the same list in Settings. Then switches straight to Tidymoji.

You don’t need it. Without Full Access the keyboard works fully, and you edit favorites, hidden emojis and settings in the Tidymoji app.

With Full Access you can touch and hold an emoji in the keyboard to pin or hide it right there. iOS lets a keyboard save to the storage it shares with its app only when Full Access is on. That is the only thing Tidymoji uses it for. The keyboard itself never connects to the internet.

To turn it on, open Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Tidymoji and switch on Allow Full Access.

Yes. Tidymoji collects no data, contains no analytics or ads, and never connects to the internet, except to your own iCloud if you turn on Sync with iCloud. Your favorites, hidden emojis and settings stay on your iPhone, or in your iCloud account. Deleting the app deletes the data on that iPhone.

The privacy policy has the details.

Open the Tidymoji app and tap Hide and Pin Emojis. All emojis appear in a grid. Choose a mode, Hide or Pin, then tap an emoji, or swipe sideways across many at once, like selecting photos.

Each category has Hide All and Show All, and each mode has a reset. The search field above the grid finds emojis by name.

Every step can be undone: tap Undo in the … menu, or shake your iPhone.

Yes. In the Tidymoji app, Emoji Rows sets 3, 4 or 5 rows, and Emoji Size sets small, medium or large emojis. The keyboard grows or shrinks to fit. Changes apply the next time the keyboard appears.

A pinned emoji appears in Favorites and in its own category. To see it only in Favorites, turn on Show Pinned Emojis Only Once in the Tidymoji app.

It may be hidden. Check the Tidymoji app, or search for it in the keyboard: the search also finds hidden emojis.

If it isn’t there either, your iOS version can’t display it. Tidymoji leaves such emojis out automatically. They appear after an iOS update.

Yes. The search looks through German and English names at the same time, so “herz” and “heart” both find the red heart.

Yes, if you turn on Sync with iCloud in the Tidymoji app. Your favorites, hidden emojis and keyboard settings then stay the same on every iPhone and iPad that uses your Apple Account, through your own iCloud. The switch is off by default.

If iCloud already holds data from another device, the app asks which set to keep. Turning the switch off stops the sync; the data already in iCloud stays there for your other devices.

Open the Tidymoji app and tap Reset Frequently Used. In the same section you can turn Frequently Used off, or choose how many emojis it shows, in whole columns of the keyboard, up to 50.
