Privacy Policy
General and Mandatory Information
Data Protection
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat it as confidential and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and this privacy policy. Personal data is any information with which you could be personally identified.
In short: the Tidymoji app and its keyboard collect no data at all. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. The only personal data involved is the technical data your browser sends when it requests a page, and whatever you write to us by email.
Party Responsible for the App and This Website
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:
Anwert Digital GmbH
Rotenturmstraße 27/2
1010 Vienna, Austria
Email: support@tidymoji.com
Phone: +43 699 144 444 99
The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.
Your Rights
You have the following rights under the GDPR with regard to your personal data:
- to obtain information about the data we hold, its origin, its recipients and the purpose of the processing (Art. 15),
- to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
- to have data deleted (Art. 17),
- to have its processing restricted (Art. 18),
- to receive data you have given us in a common, machine-readable format, or to have it sent to another controller where that is technically feasible (Art. 20),
- to object at any time to processing that is based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21).
If we ever process data on the basis of your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. An informal email is enough. Processing that took place before your withdrawal remains lawful.
To exercise any of these rights, write to the address above. It costs you nothing.
Right to File Complaints with Regulatory Authorities
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you may file a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for us is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde): dsb.gv.at. You may also turn to the authority in the EU member state where you live or work.
No Automated Decisions
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Encryption and Security
This website is delivered only over an encrypted connection (TLS). You can recognise it by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser’s address bar. Please note that no method of transmission over the internet, email included, is completely secure.
Opposition to Promotional Emails
We prohibit the use of the contact details published in our imprint for sending advertising and information material that we have not expressly requested. We reserve the right to take legal action against unsolicited advertising such as email spam.
Data Collection in Our App
We Collect No Data
The Tidymoji app and its keyboard do not collect, process or transmit any personal data. They contain no analytics, no tracking and no advertising, and they never connect to the internet.
Data That Stays on Your iPhone
The following data is stored on your device only:
- Your favorites, your hidden emojis and your settings. They are stored in the App Group container that the app and the keyboard share on your iPhone.
- The usage counts behind “Frequently Used”. They are stored in the keyboard’s own local storage.
We have no access to this data. When you delete the app, the data is deleted with it.
Full Access
iOS asks for “Allow Full Access” before a keyboard may write to the storage it shares with its app. Tidymoji requests Full Access for one purpose only: so that you can pin or hide an emoji directly in the keyboard by touching and holding it, and the keyboard can save that change.
Full Access is optional. Without it, the keyboard works fully, and you edit favorites, hidden emojis and settings in the app. Tidymoji never uses Full Access to connect to a network, so nothing you type leaves your device.
Purchase, Download and Apple’s Diagnostics
You buy and download Tidymoji through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the purchase, the payment and the download as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements › Share With App Developers), Apple provides us with aggregated crash and usage statistics. They contain nothing that identifies you. You can switch this off there at any time.
Data Collection on Our Website
No Cookies, No Analytics, No Third-Party Content
tidymoji.com is a static website. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no advertising and no social media plugins. Fonts, scripts and images all come from our own domain, so your browser contacts no third party when you visit.
Hosting and Server Log Data
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver the pages and to protect the service against attacks, Cloudflare processes the data your browser transmits with every request:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested page
- Referrer URL
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
We do not combine this data with data from other sources, and we keep no server logs of our own. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in delivering this website securely and reliably.
Cloudflare acts as our processor. Its data processing addendum is part of our agreement with Cloudflare. Where data is transferred to the USA, this is covered by Cloudflare’s certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Cloudflare keeps the data only as long as these purposes require. Details are in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Contact by Email
If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer you and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. We do not pass your message on without your permission. The provider of our email service processes it on our behalf.
We keep your message until your request is settled and delete it afterwards. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected. You are not obliged to give us any data, but without an email address we cannot reply.
